A Rooted Collaboration
Melissa Lafontaine founded Earth Within in 2020, building a nature-based nonprofit focused on accessible menstrual cycle education for young people in her community long before our paths crossed.
When she joined the 2025 cohort of the Maiden's Moon: Moonlit Mentor Certification, she wasn't starting from scratch. She came to deepen her roots, to weave East Asian Medicine and cyclical wisdom into work she was already doing in the world.
Our upcoming free talk is the fruit of that meeting. 🍓
We share the belief that understanding our natural cycles is a fundamental right, not a luxury.
Together we're exploring what becomes possible when this work is offered not just through private offerings but through community-rooted, accessible, mission-driven organizations that meet people exactly where they are.

Kris will also share her experience with developing a financial model that is both sustainable and scholarship-driven.

Melissa will share some core essentials that helped her build and sustain her non-profit. She'll share tips on fiscal responsibility and budgeting, finding and working with grant writers, grant application basics, and options for fiscal sponsorship to support your programs.
